TCT obtained the first industrial CURC certificate of I-CBTC system

Recently, the self-developed Interoperability-CBTC (I-CBTC), ATP, ATO, ATS and CI of Traffic Control Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “TCT”) have obtained the China Urban Rail Certification (herein after referred to as CURC) successfully. On 26th of this month, JRCC (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. issued the first industrial CURC certificate which conformed to the manufacturer model and interoperation model requirement to TCT. Fu Deying, Secretary-General of Urban Rail Equipment Certification Technical Committee, attended the issuing ceremony on behalf of the Equipment Automation Office and the Committee.

CURC refers to the activity that the certification body with the qualification of urban rail transit equipment certification approved by CNCA certifies the applied products and the qualified product logo uniformly in accordance with the unified certification implementation rules issued by CNCA within the product catalogue range released by CNCA and NDRC. CURC belongs to voluntary product certification implemented by the country uniformly (“national unified implementation” for short).


The certification of CBTC and its sub-system ATS, ATO, ATP and CI is divided into two units: the manufacturer model and the manufacturer’s interoperation model. the latter is an advancing requirement of the former, that is, the manufacturer shall meet the requirements of interoperation of Communication-Based Train Operation Control System (CBTC) of Urban Rail Transit while conforming to the previous standards.


The certification process of urban rail transit equipment shall be fair and rigorous, including certification entrustment; type test; functional safety certification; initial factory inspection; certification result evaluation; and supervision after approval. As the certification party of TCT’s I-CBTC, JRCC (the third-party rail transit product certification and testing organ established by Southwest Jiaotong University) successfully tested and certified the functions and interfaces of CBTC and interconnectivity system on I-CBTC test platform of Beijing Railway Testing Center for 5 months. The products met the requirements of manufacturer model and interoperation model and finally obtained the CURC certificate.


On the certification ceremony, JRCC gave high affirmation for the certification and pointed out that the CURC certification obtained by TCT’s I-CBTC system was a model of successfully combining the voluntary certification of urban rail equipment with urban rail equipment demonstration project as well as another important achievement of Chongqing Rail Transit I-CBTC demonstration project, which marked that independent innovation path of industrial development driven by demonstration projects had entered a new stage.

China Association of Metros has promoted the interconnectivity of CBTC system since 2014, set up demonstration projects based on the four lines of Chongqing Rail Transit, defined Chinese industry standard of urban rail signal under the driving of Chongqing Project, formulated the market access rules based on Chinese standard, established the autonomous interconnectivity signal system industry chain and greatly increased the market share of autonomous signal system.


So far, the I-CBTC system developed by TCT independently has been successfully applied to 19 cities in China and 23 projects (including overseas projects). As the pioneer of I-CBTC signal system line in China, TCT will cooperate with the industry associations and partners based on the independent core technologies, constantly promote technological innovation, forge ahead and grow constantly, promote the normalized and innovative development of urban rail CBTC signal industry, repay the society and create a future rail transit more suitable for users’ demands and with intelligent ecological civilization and local characteristics for more cities.
