Recently, Shenzhen Technology University and TCT (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (TCT (Shenzhen) for short) jointly announced that Joint Laboratory of Guangdong University Rail Transit Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Engineering Technology Development Center (hereinafter referred to as “joint laboratory” was established formally), Professor Luo Qin of the Urban Transportation and Logistics of Shenzhen Technology University and Zhi Guosheng, General Manager of TCT (Shenzhen) attended and witnessed the opening ceremony of joint laboratory.
At present, the rail transit in China is developing rapidly. With the constant increase of line network scale and in response to the situations such as uneven distribution of personnel, line personalization, technical level differentiation, equipment system diversification, continuous increase of passenger flow, excessive congestion and efficient treatment demand for emergency, the requirement for the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of facilities and equipment is higher and higher. Huge operation scale, complicated equipment system and updating and transformation tasks of facilities bring huge pressure and heavy burden for the operation and maintenance management of rail transit.
Therefore, as an important part of Guangdong Universities Rail Transit Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Engineering Technology Development Center certified by Guangdong Province Office of Education, the joint laboratory will promote the intelligent operation and maintenance of rail transit from traction and control of rail transit vehicles, intelligent detection and maintenance and intelligent transportation and comprehensive management, so as to meet the industry’s higher requirement for the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety.
The experts of Shenzhen Technology University and TCT (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (TCT (Shenzhen) for short) agreed that the establishment of joint laboratory will lay a solid foundation for the construction of intelligent urban rail and smart cities for Shenzhen, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and even the whole country; cultivate interdisciplinary, applied and high-level talents for intelligent urban rail industry, further strengthen the integration between rail transit and high technologies such as big data and AI, eliminate the fragmentation of rail transit management information, improve the management level and effect of rail transit operation and maintenance, guarantee the safety, comfort and economy of urban rail transit, promote resource saving and environmental protection, improve the operation management level of rail transit by introducing big data and AI, enhance the safety and comfort and improve the travel convenience and quality.
Both Shenzhen Technology University and TCT (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. hoped that the joint laboratory will become a platform for supporting the orderly passenger flow of urban rail transit, provide vigorous support for the decision making of emergency group; reduce the operation and maintenance cost of rail transit, provide users with available, accurate and perfect service; improve the operation and maintenance management efficiency and level of rail transit enterprises in Shenzhen and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and promote the intelligence of urban rail transit of Shenzhen, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even the whole country.
