With the increasing maturity of urban rail transit network operations today, high train density, heavy passenger flow pressure, and rapid propagation of emergencies have become the new normal for train dispatching command. When sudden events such as switch failures, train traction failures, or catenary power loss occur, traditional Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) systems often struggle to respond quickly. Dispatching decisions rely heavily on human experience. Difficulties in locating information, assessing impacts, and adjusting plans have become key bottlenecks constraining operational safety and efficiency.

To address this industry challenge, Traffic Control Technology has adopted a data-driven, intelligent decision-making core to build a "Perception—Analysis—Decision—Control" real-time rolling optimization closed-loop control system. This provides a dynamic adjustment-based intelligent train dispatching command system solution for urban rail transit.

The Intelligent Train Dispatching Command System builds upon traditional ATS, breaking through four key core technologies to comprehensively enhance dispatching and handling capabilities during emergencies:

Proactive Perception of Train Operation Situation

The system tracks 22 core train operation indicators in real-time, proactively identifies 10 types of key faults including switches, doors, traction, and platform doors, locates the root cause of events within seconds, and proactively pushes classified and graded alerts to assist dispatchers in quickly grasping the overall situation.

Parallel Simulation and Deduction

Based on time-varying complex fault scenarios, the system integrates multi-source data to rolling forecast fault evolution trends and impact ranges. This empowers dispatchers to make forward-looking decisions, significantly reducing the risk of misjudgment.

Coordinated Adjustment of Operation Diagrams and Train Turnaround

The system generates multiple adjustment strategies within seconds, actively recommends the optimal plan, supports online dynamic reconfiguration of operation diagrams, and helps dispatchers adjust efficiently.

Full-Process Decision Support through Emergency Plans

The system integrates an emergency plan knowledge base, automatically generates emergency plans based on emergencies, and produces step-by-step dispatching command strategies according to the handling progress. It guides dispatchers to complete strategy confirmation in a standardized manner, after which the system executes automatically. This effectively shortens handling time and promotes standardization and intelligence in dispatching operations.


PART 02 Practical Application: Successful Implementation on Beijing Subway Line 19

The Intelligent Train Dispatching Command System has been applied on the first phase project of Beijing Subway Line 19, covering 13 types of emergency scenarios including switch failures, train traction failures, interlocking system downtime, and extended operation hours. Since the system went live:

? It has significantly improved dispatching handling efficiency during emergencies, with efficiency gains reaching up to 66% in extended operation scenarios;

? The extended operation and reserve train deployment functions are now used regularly, having completed 21 extended operations and 10 reserve train deployments in total, effectively managing surges in passenger flow during holidays and unexpected peaks;

? The system supports full-process electronic and automated closed-loop control from fault confirmation, plan generation, instruction issuance, to execution feedback, significantly simplifying handling procedures and reducing human errors.

In the future, Traffic Control Technology will continue to expand the application boundaries and effectiveness of the Intelligent Train Dispatching Command System. We will drive the system's evolution from "intelligent assistance" towards "autonomous decision-making," support the self-reliance of core technologies and improvement of industry standards, seize opportunities from the growing demand for urban rail intelligent upgrades, and deepen our presence in the smart dispatching field, injecting momentum into the development of a transportation powerhouse.
