Historic Breakthrough! TCT Signs Subcontract for Sydney Metro West Line Project, Achieving a Significant Milestone in the International Rail Transit Signaling Systems Sector.
Recently, Traffic Control Technology Co., Ltd (Stock Code: 688015; Stock Abbreviation: TCT) formally signed a signaling system subcontract agreement with Metro Trains West Pty Ltd in Sydney, Australia. This signing marks the first successful entry of China's rail transit signaling systems into the Australian market, signifying a historic step forward in the global application of TCT's advanced rail transit technologies on the international stage.
Project Implementation: 24-Km Line Connecting Sydney's Core Areas, TCT's Solution Demonstrates Capabilities
The Sydney Metro West project is a key transportation infrastructure initiative for the City of Sydney. Implemented by Metro Trains West Pty Ltd, the company serves as the contractor responsible for the train, systems, maintenance, and operations (TSMO) aspects of the Sydney Metro West project.
This 24-kilometer line features nine stations, connecting the Western Sydney business hub of Westmead and Parramatta with the city center. Scheduled for operation in 2032, the project is expected to double transport capacity between these two core areas and significantly enhance overall commuting accessibility and convenience across Sydney.
As the signaling system subcontractor for this project, TCT will provide a complete Fully Automatic Operation (FAO) signaling solution encompassing system design, equipment supply, system integration, and full lifecycle support. TCT will be fully responsible for the delivery and functional performance of the signaling system.
Technological Breakthrough: Autonomous FAO System Breaks Monopoly, Sets New Benchmark for Global Expansion
The success of TCT stems from its independently developed FAO system. This system, with complete proprietary intellectual property rights, enables unmanned operation throughout the entire operational cycle—including automatic train wake-up, self-diagnosis, operation, and hibernation—achieving internationally advanced technical standards. To date, the system has been successfully deployed on rail transit lines in 11 Chinese cities, ranking among the industry leaders in cumulative operational mileage and establishing a reliable, verifiable operational track record.
It is precisely this reliability, validated through large-scale operations, that has enabled TCT to enter into the overseas market. The Sydney Metro West project marks the company's first successful entry into Australia's market with its rail transit signaling systems, representing a significant milestone in its internationalization journey.
More broadly, this project sets a new benchmark for advanced rail transit equipment meeting the most stringent global market demands. This achievement not only demonstrates the company's technological prowess but also highlights the sustained development level of China's rail transit industry as a whole.
The successful entry into Sydney's market can be attributed to TCT's long-standing commitment to independent innovation, as well as the trust of its project partners, including MTR Corporation Limited and CRRC Corporation Limited.
As a key milestone in TCT's global expansion strategy, the Sydney Metro West project lays a solid foundation for the company’s further penetration into international markets. Building on this achievement, TCT will continue to strengthen its independent innovation capabilities and deepen collaboration with global partners to deliver safe, efficient, and intelligent rail transit solutions for cities around the world and Contribute to the sustainable development of the global rail transit system.
