VIETNAM‘S FIRST METRO RAIL HANOI LINE 2A STARTS ITS REVENUE SERVICE

On 6th November 2021, the Hanoi Rail Transit Cat Linh-Ha Dong Line (Line 2A) started its revenue services.

It is the first metro in Vietnam with a total length of 13.1km, 12 elevated stations, and a design speed of 80km/h running from Cat Linh to Yen Nghia in Ha Dong district with an end-to-end travel time of 23 minutes. Line 2A was built by China Railway Sixth Group, a subsidiary of China Railway Group using Chinese technology. Line2A signalling design adopted I-CBCT (Interoperable Communication Based Train Control) solution by TCT (Traffic Control Technology). The Line 2A operation will play a very significant role in improving the efficiency of Hanoi's urban traffic network, relieving traffic pressure, uplifting the tourism industry, and promoting regional economic development.
