Miniaturization of Onboard Equipment

Background

To address the challenges in upgrading existing urban rail transit lines, such as bulky equipment, insufficient layered design, long maintenance cycles, high maintenance costs, and limited installation space, a modular subrackenabling "building block" installationhas been developed, driven by China’s steady advancement of standardization initiatives and guided byrelevanttechnical standards, technological iterations, and policies and regulations. This solution adopts functional decoupling, standardized interfaces, and redundancy design to resolve pain points including compatibility, reliability, and maintenance costsin traditional signaling systems. It also lays a technical foundation for the intelligent and green development of the industry.

Product Features

  • Modular Architecture Design:

Based on functional decoupling and standardized interfaces, the system is divided into 7 core modules, forming a high-cohesion, low-coupling architecture. Each module has clearly defined functional boundaries which supports flexible composition and dynamic reconfiguration, enabling on-demand allocation of hardware resources and rapid iterative upgrades.

  • Open Expansion Capability

The subrack adopts an open interface architecture compatible with diverse peripherals such as LTE and radar, enabling integrationacross all scenarios within the rail transit signaling system. Utilizing standardized communication protocols and modular expansion interfaces, it meets dynamic expansion requirements under networked operations and adapts to multi-line and operational scenarios.

  • Redundancy and Fault Tolerance Mechanism:

Based on a2×2-out-of-2 redundancy architecture, the subrack eliminates single-point failure risks. The multi-level fault detection and self-healing algorithms ensure continuous operation of core functions even in the event of individual module failure, meeting SIL4 safety certification requirements.

Application Examples

Beijing Subway Line 13 Renovation:The equipment's feature of miniaturization is fully leveraged for reasonable installation, maintaining compatibility with existing track circuit operation, achieving "zero-interference" upgrade.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Line Renovation:By implementing multiple redundancy and cross-validation mechanisms, the modular onboard equipment significantly enhances reliability and fault tolerance. It ensures safety operation under high-frequency, high-load daily conditions for both passengers and onboard assets.
