Train Intelligent Obstacle Detection System (TIDS)

Background

Due to factors such as increasing risks of track encroachment, lengthy product deployment cycles, challenges in retrofitting aging lines, and the widespread need of autonomous driving technology, there is an urgent need for intelligent solutions.

IEC 62267 “Automated Urban Guided Transport (AUGT) - Safety Requirements” established clear specifications for fully automated urban rail transit trains, among which both DTO (GOA3) and FAO (GOA4) must possess the functionality to prevent collisions with obstacles and pedestrians on the track.

The product complies with group standards for train obstacle detection and perception technology issued by the China Communications and Transportation Association, andthe China Association of Metros. It alsotakes a leading role in drafting the local standards for active obstacle detection and perception technology in Beijing.

Application Examples

Hong Kong Tsuen Wan Line: From 2018 to 2019, a POC test was conducted on 5 trains of Tsuen Wan Line.Subsequently, TIDSis installed on all 35 trains of the line, achieving zero missed or false alarms, with stable and reliable running.

Beijing Subway Line 15 Cross-Line Operation Project: Under the protection of TIDS, cross-line operation trains meet the safetyrequirementsof SIL2. In the presence of a train ahead, a red signal, or other obstacles detected, the system is able to issue timely warning signals to the driver, effectively preventing potentialaccidents.

Chengdu Metro Line 13, 27, 30, and Ziyang Line): TIDS has been widely deployed on new lines, effectively ensuring operational safety. Among them, Chengdu Metro Line 27 and Ziyang Line have commenced initial operation, with stable and reliable system operation.
