Fully Automatic Operation Line with a Maximum Speed of 160 km/h - Beijing Daxing International Airport Express

(1)Opening time

September 26, 2019

(2) Project overview

The total length is 39.9 kilometers, including 21.98 kilometers of underground lines and U-shaped troughs, and 17.92 kilometers of elevated sections and subgrade sections. There are 3 stations in total, all of which are turnout stations and transfer stations. 4-car and 8-car formation D-type trains are adopted.

(3) Technical solutions and advantages and characteristics

Daxing Airport Line: It adopts the FAO system. The train can reach a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, making it the world's fastest fully automatic urban rail transit line.

● The FAO system line of the subway constructed at a speed of 160 km/h achieves the GoA4 level of fully automatic driving.

● Apply high-speed LTE vehicle-to-ground communication technology to achieve LTE-M integrated bearer for multiple services such as train control and broadband trunking.

● Take the lead in adopting the autonomous interconnected FAO system, unify the interface protocol information of train-ground and ground-ground communications, and form standard design principles.

● An innovative wayside design method for the FAO system applicable to 160 km/h lines is proposed, enabling the wayside equipment layout of the Daxing Airport Line under the conditions of 4/8-car formations and long intervals, and meeting the operation requirements of the CBTC system for high-speed lines.

● Pioneering the adoption of anti-strong electromagnetic interference technology for the FAO system under 25 KV AC power supply, overcoming the technology of axle counter to resist the interference of overhead return current and rail harmonic current, reducing interference and ensuring train operation safety.

(4) Project performance

Expert evaluation: The FAO signaling system of this project is highly advanced and has complete independent intellectual property rights. The application of this system marks that China has reached a new height in the independent innovation of the urban rail transit signaling system field.
